Keep Smyrna Beautiful and Home Depot at 2450 Cumberland Parkway will host the Smyrna-Vinings area site for the Christmas tree recycling event 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 6.

Keep Smyrna Beautiful will offer residents a free tree seedling, while they last, for each tree dropped off.

Vegetable and flower seed packets also will be available.

Volunteers will direct traffic and help residents unload their trees.

Davey Tree Experts will chip the trees and deliver free mulch.

All of the ornaments and lights, as well as the base, must be removed before donation.

Home Depot asks that trees not be dropped off until Jan. 6 because of space limitations.

Also, no wreathes or garlands will be accepted because the wire used to hold them together cannot be chipped and will not be recycled.

Volunteers may call Keep Smyrna Beautiful at 770-431-2863.

For information on mulch delivery, call Davey Tree Experts at 770-451-7911.
