Rooker, an Atlanta-based real estate development and construction company, has set up a real-time construction camera to allow viewing of the progress on two projects in Union City. Totaling 1,479,350 square feet, the projects include a partnership with 404 Studio Partners to develop a purpose-built film and television studio facility named Atlanta Metro Studios at the former Shannon Mall site in Union City. The first phase of the film and movie studio project, totaling 240,000 square feet on 25 acres, will include 130,000 square feet of sound stages, 60,000 square feet of office space and 50,000 square feet of mill.

In addition, Rooker plans a 1.1-million-square-foot distribution facility to be built on 65 acres. Colliers International is the leasing agent for the distribution building, which will be designed to accommodate large-scale consumer product and e-commerce business operations. Design features for the distribution facility include 36-foot clear heights, 60-foot-wide bay spacing, ESFR fire suppression and over 600 parking spaces.
