Sandy Springs has updated its parking policy to let motorists park for free for up to two hours in the street-level spaces at City Springs. CITY OF SANDY SPRINGS

Visitors to City Springs in downtown Sandy Springs can park for free for up two hours in the street level, surface parking spaces under a revised parking policy approved by the City Council.

“This change in policy reflects a desire to accommodate patrons dining at restaurants for breakfast and lunch and for those visiting the fitness boutiques at Market Square,” the city said. “Please note that parking fines will be strictly enforced for cars parked longer than the allowed time.”

Those who overstay the parking time will be fined $25 for each of the first three offenses and towed on the fourth offense, officials said.

Visitors can continue parking for free, up to two hours, in the underground deck. Flat-rate event parking and valet parking will be offered for specific events, and retailers can validate deck parking after two hours for patrons, according to the city.
