Construction is to begin in the coming weeks on a new, multi-lane roundabout on Old Alabama Road south of Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell.
The new roundabout will be part of an entrance, to be built over the next four to six months, to the new Riverwalk townhouse development between Riverside Drive and Market Boulevard, city officials said.
A contractor will add pavement and concrete islands for the roundabout during off-peak hours, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., to minimize traffic impacts, officials said. Temporary lane closures will be necessary at times, and motorists are advised to be alert and use caution when driving through the construction zone.
New traffic patterns will take effect as the project nears completion this winter, weather permitting. Information: www.roswellgov.com/roundabouts.
