The city of Roswell is kicking off its 2016 budget-building process.

Officials will hold three public hearings on the proposed millage rate, which officials anticipate remaining the same at 5.455 mills. The hearings are set for 7 p.m. May 11, 6:30 p.m. May 18 and 7 p.m. May 27 in the council chambers at Roswell City Hall, 38 Hill St.

The proposed 2016 fiscal year budget, which must be adopted by July 1, will also be discussed during that series of meetings.

City officials said the 5.455 rate has remained unchanged since the 2009 fiscal year. The city is also projecting a one percent increase in property values, but the actual change won’t be known until the city gets the official property digest from the Fulton County Tax Commissioner’s office in July of 2015.
