A Roswell City Council committee has signed off on the construction phase contract to build a new fire station at Old Alabama Road and Market Boulevard.

The Administration, Finance and Recreation and Parks Committee approved authorizing the mayor or city administrator to sign the contract with Turner Construction for Fire Station No. 4. It has a guaranteed maximum price of $4,845,579. The measure goes to the full Council on July 25.

The 15,000-square-foot facility, on a 3-acre site, will replace the current No. 4 fire station on Holcomb Bridge Road. The new, two-story building will have sleeping quarters on the top floor, living quarters on the ground floor and three drive-through bays.
