The Roswell City Council has approved the $3 million purchase of 0.36 acres of land at 685 Atlanta St. in the historic downtown area for the realignment of Oxbo Road.

The Oxbo realignment is a first-priority “Tier I” project under the Transportation Special Purpose Local Optional Sales Tax approved by voters last November. Google Maps showed a Do It Best hardware store at 685 Atlanta as of January 2017.

The council also approved reallocating $3.225 million within the TSPLOST plan to the Oxbo Road/Ga. 9 intersection project and a budget amendment for that amount. The additional $225,000 is for remaining right-of-way acquisition, according to a staff report to the council.
