Recognizing that Roswell has become a sought-after place for special events and film production, the city has announced two new online tools to help event organizers and film production companies navigate the permit application and event logistics processes.
Event and production requests go to the city’s Special Events Division, which coordinates with other city departments such as police, fire, transportation, sanitation and recreation and parks to provide services and allow the use of facilities.
“EventApp,” being introduced in Georgia for the first time, lets event organizers create an application, apply and upload supporting documents, and communicate with city staff. “Milestones are set to meet deadlines, and every action is tracked and recorded,” officials said.
“FilmApp” allows production companies to request on-set services, such as a police detail, road closures and facilities. Roswell, Decatur and DeKalb County are launching the app. It has been in use in Atlanta since 2014.
