Duluth will hold a public information open house to discuss the Rogers Bridge Road at Main Street Improvement Project 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. July 12 in the community room of City Hall, 3167 Main St.

Last fall, Duluth and the Gwinnett Department of Transportation agreed on 2017 Joint City/County SPLOST Transportation Projects. At that time, two possible traffic lights were under consideration, one for the intersection of Abbotts Bridge Road and George Rogers Avenue and one at Main Street and Rogers Bridge Road.

Traffic light intersections cost approximately $200,000 each. As part of the joint agreement, Duluth will provide 19 percent of its SPLOST funds for the projects, with the county covering the remaining 81 percent.
