Motorists may experience traffic delays starting this week in Woodstock as C.W. Matthews Contracting Co. begins resurfacing streets in and around the city.

Weather permitting, work is expected from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, until the $2.99 million project is completed, according to a city announcement.

C.W. Matthews will pave 3.54 miles of Arnold Mill Road from Barnes Road to the Woodstock city limits; 1.01 miles of Barnes from Trickum to Arnold Mill roads; and, outside city limits, 2.57 miles of Lower Birmingham Road from Batesville Road to the Fulton County line.

“We ask for your patience as road crews make these roads better and safer to travel,” Woodstock City Manager Jeff Moon said. “Please be mindful of signage and crews working in the area as you travel through the city of Woodstock.”

The project is being paid for out funds of a Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) and a Local Maintenance Improvement Grant of the Georgia Department of Transportation. Information: https://bit.ly/30duYLZ
