The kitchen and bar areas inside a Snellville bowling center were left unclean from the day before, and it seemed like no one was responsible for monitoring their conditions, said a Gwinnett County health inspector.
The food prep areas at AMF Snellville Lanes had not been cleaned or secured overnight. A hand sink was being used to dump trash and food debris. The ice machine had mold build-up inside. The drink nozzle gun in the bar was unclean with mold and debris. The can opener and microwave were also unclean with food and splatter. The floor underneath the bar had old food debris and spilled drink, straws and broken glass, according to the report.
The inspector said no one was monitoring the condition of the kitchen and bar areas, which operate all day with an employee coming in after hours to prepare food.
Though no food prep employees or customers were present during most of the inspection, the facility was not in good condition. The inspector said someone needed to be responsible for maintaining the food prep areas.
The food service at AMF Snellville Lanes, 2350 Ronald Reagan Parkway, failed the inspection with a 54/U. The facility had previous scores of 100/A and 90/A.
In other code violations, food was stored uncovered in a walk-in freezer, some unwashed fruits and vegetables were not separated from ready-to-eat foods and packages of cheese were not marked with disposal dates.
The food service at AMF Snellville Lanes will be re-inspected. [Editor's Note: AMF Snellville Lanes passed the follow-up inspection with 100/A.]
