Roswell officials say they would like to hold another “Drug Take Back” this fall after about 60 residents dropped off some 161 pounds of old, expired or unused prescriptions at the event last month.

The program, sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Roswell Police Department, is designed to remove unwanted prescription drugs from households with children. Another objective is to keep people from either throwing the drugs in the trash or down the toilet, practices which can taint water systems.
