A northwest Georgia city is the seventh fastest-growing in the U.S., according to businessweek.com.

Calhoun, the county seat of Gordon County, is also the fastest-growing Georgia city for 2011. Since 2000, the number of households in Calhoun has increased by just over 36 percent, up to 11,364, according to the magazine's survey.

Located about 65 miles north of Atlanta and 50 miles south of Chattanooga, Calhoun's population boost has been helped by the textile industry. Calhoun is also about a 20-minute drive south on I-75 from Dalton, dubbed the "Carpet capital of the world."

Olive Branch, Miss., tops the list. Since 1990, the city's population has grown 838 percent to more than 33,000.
