Qualifying ended Aug. 23 with 10 candidates for seven posts on the Marietta Board of Education.

Unopposed for Ward 1 is incumbent Alan Levine, an attorney.

For Ward 2, candidates are incumbent Jason Waters and Arthur Vaughn, an educator.

The only Ward 3 candidate is incumbent Randy Weiner, a small business owner.

Ward 4 candidates are incumbent Allison M. Gruehn, a bookkeeper and Camile B. Jones, an educator.

For Ward 5, candidates are incumbent Jeriene Bonner-Grimes, a business owner and Angela Orange, a nonprofit administrator.

The Ward 6 candidate is incumbent Kerry Minervini, a realtor.

Incumbent Irene Holly Berens, an office manager, is the Ward 7 candidate.

The general election will be Nov. 7.

Those elected will serve four-year terms from Jan. 1, 2018 to Jan. 1, 2022.
