The McDonough City Council voted at its Jan. 2 regular meeting to approve several purchases for its public safety and public works departments.

The council authorized the purchase of 24 X26P Tasers, battery packs and data port kit for the McDonough Police Department at a cost of $28,725, paid from the general fund. Also approved was the purchase of one 2020 Chevy Tahoe for the Fire Department from Bellamy Strickland Chevrolet at a cost of $36,725, paid from impact fees.

Authorization was given for Goforth Williamson Inc. to disassemble and repair the raw water pump at the Water Treatment Plant at a cost of $22,510, funded from the Water Treatment Plant budget.
