The Powder Springs City Council voted 5-0 Monday to allow monthly equal payments of utilities for no more than six months and a payment waiver.

This initial deposit due when applying for utility service may be waived if the applicant received city utility services for at least 36 consecutive months without penalty.

The changes became effective immediately.
