The Powder Springs City Council voted 5-0 Monday to approve a new budget with no tax or fee increases and no service reductions.

This recommended budget for Fiscal Year 2017 will last from July 1 to June 30, 2017.

The city’s balanced budget is a little more than $18 million, including $7.9 million for the general fund, nearly $6.8 million for the water and sewer fund, $1.5 million for the sanitation fund, almost $1.3 million for the special revenue funds and $516,372 for the storm water fund.

Three new full-time positions will be added to bring the total of full-time city employees to 84, receiving a four percent pay raise on average.
