A public hearing on a day care was tabled Monday by the Powder Springs Planning and Zoning Commission because legal ad requirements were not met, Interim Community Development Director Tina Garver said.

Instead the case is expected to be heard at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 23 in the Council Chambers, Community Development Building, 4488 Pineview Drive on a variance application by Kerline D. Piard and Malamav Community and Human Services to allow a day care closer than 300 feet to another day care.

The property is at 3942 Austell Powder Springs Road.

A final public hearing and vote is expected at 7 p.m. March 2 by Mayor Patricia Vaughn and the city council.

Anyone wanting to speak at a city public hearing is required to disclose campaign contributions to the Community Development Department five days before the hearing.
