A Powder Springs Meet the Candidates Forum is scheduled for mid-October in advance of the Nov. 5 general election.
The Powder Springs Community Task Force will present the forum from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Ron Anderson Community Center, 3820 Macedonia Road, Powder Springs.
Tonia Rowland of Toastmasters will be the moderator.
Powder Springs Mayor Al Thurman has no opposition as he seeks his second four-year term in office.
For the other two at-large City Council posts, those incumbents - serving their first four-year terms - face contenders.
In At-Large Post 1, incumbent Patrick Bordelon, a real estate title examiner, and Larry W. Thomas, an IT consultant and a professional genealogist, are competing for that post.
For At-Large Post 2, incumbent Patricia Wisdom, a retired social worker; former Powder Springs Councilwoman Nancy Hudson, a retiree, and Guenevere Reed, also a retiree, are seeking election.
