Investigators say a teen who claimed someone kidnapped her from school was actually lying about the whole thing.
Police told Channel 2's Tyisha Fernandes they are now trying to decide whether or not to charge 14-year-old Salaycia Eason.
Fernandes was there Wednesday night when police walked the teen into the Clayton County School Police Headquarters.
Officers said they interviewed Salaycia as soon as they picked her up.
Salaycia did not seem relieved to be rescued, after she said she was abducted at gunpoint, telling Channel 2 Action News' cameras to "get out my face" as police walked her into school police headquarters.
"In reviewing our surveillance, we determined that the allegations and the stories that had been given to us were false," said Chief Clarence Cox, with the Clayton County School Police Department.
Salaycia had told police she was taken from Morrow High School against her will at gunpoint Friday.
Surveillance photos show Salaycia leaving school Friday afternoon, seemingly safe.
Channel 2 Action News aired the missing teen's story during Channel 2 Action News at 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Shortly after that, police got a call that Salaycia was found at the J.C. Penney store in McDonough.
"She was with a customer from the store who recognized her from the earlier news footage, but she indicated to our officers that the person who abducted her saw the news coverage and they let her go," Cox said.
Salaycia was evaluated by medics at the police department, then was taken to get a full evaluation at a nearby hospital as a precaution.
Police are still trying to decide whether or not they will charge Salaycia with making a false report of a crime.
