There’s a new post on Jamie Hood’s Facebook page.

“(People) should change their names from slick boys to police boys because of the police work they are doing.”

Hood, however, is in jail -- solitary confinement at the Barrow County Detention Center-- accused of killing one Athens Clarke County police officer and wounding another during a March 22 shooting.

“We’re pretty certain that some people still have access to Hood’s Facebook account, and they are the ones -- family or friends, I can’t say which right now -- they are the ones making the posts on his Facebook page,” Athens Clarke County Police Capt. Clarence Holeman told the AJC.

The post was made April 14 via “mobile web,” meaning the person was using a smartphone.

That phone couldn’t have been with Hood in jail, Maj. Mike Katsegianes said. He is in solitary, restricted from having personal visits with anyone except his attorney. Cell phones aren’t allowed in the jail, not even by staff.

“There’s no way. He has no access to anything,” said Katsegianes, Barrow County’s chief jailer.
