A Kennesaw man was arrested in north Fulton County in March after he burglarized homes in Milton.

Allen Joseph Boyd, 23, faces several charges following incidents on March 16.

Boyd was caught when one victim came home from her lunch break, saw her patio door smashed in and heard Boyd rummaging around in her home, police said. She saw the man’s car and Milton police put out a BOLO.

Police spotted the car moments later near a Mattress Firm store on Windward Parkway and arrested Boyd. When he got out the car, police told Channel 2 Action News that jewelry fell out of his pockets.

Boyd burglarized two homes near Region Trace, stealing several items and breaking two sliding glass doors, police said. All the stolen items were recovered. Boyd allegedly did more than $3,000 in damages to the homes.

As one victim entered her home around noon on March 16, she noticed a sliding glass door had been smashed in and heard a noise in the house that sounded like there was someone there, according to a police report. She left the house and called 911.

While she was on the phone with police, the victim said a man exited her home, got into a silver 2013 Chevy Malibu and drove away.

An officer arrived at the victim’s home and then had the victim ride in the patrol car to go see a man that another officer had stopped, according to the police report. The patrol car’s windows are tinted, so the suspect couldn’t see the victim. The victim identified the suspect as Boyd.

Boyd is being held in a Fulton County jail on charges of burglary, criminal damage to property, theft by receiving stolen property and possession of marijuana. His bond was set at $55,000. Boyd had a preliminary hearing on Friday.

The victim breifly spoke off-camera with Channel 2. She said she was “very shaken-up” by the incident and wants to “put this situation behind” her.
