Moving city hall to a new location at 310 Technology Parkway will cost Peachtree Corners $1.5 million in various relocation expenses. The city council recently authorized the city manager to begin the selection process for improvements not to exceed $75,000 for exterior signage, $275,000 for audio visual, $85,000 for access control and security, $265,000 for nanolumens, $150,000 for hardscaping, and $650,000 for furniture, fixtures and equipment.

Peachtree Corners announced in May its plan to spend $4.5 million to purchase the building and relocate city hall rather than continue to pay for rental space. The purchase is being financed through the Georgia Municipal Association and will be paid off in 15 years.

By purchasing the property the city will avoid an anticipated rent increase at their current location, and will allow the city to lease out a portion of the building, providing additional income to offset the monthly loan cost.

The city’s current 12,500 square-foot office space at 147 Technology Parkway is behind another building, making it often difficult for visitors to locate city hall.
