Peachtree City is recruiting candidates for a new public services director/assistant city manager.

The City Council approved the position 5-0 on Oct. 4. City Manager Jon Rorie explained that the city’s staffing is “out of balance,” and has not funded a public service director position for the last three years. The new role will direct the operations of the public services, public works, and recreation and special events divisions, as well as be involved in budget recommendations, personnel and training. Compensation for the position will be approximately $134,000 in salary and benefits.

Rorie also announced the resignation of Mike Warrix, the city’s current planning and development coordinator, who is relocating to Texas.
