Rather than repair the run-down pool in Pebblepocket Park, Peachtree City is opting to save money and just demolish it. Recreation and Special Events Administrator Cajen Rhodes told the City Council on Feb. 18 that “the pool is requiring a serious amount of time, money and effort” and would cost at least $40,000 to repair.

Since 2011, it has only been used for swim lessons and parties.

Demolition will cost approximately $8,000. The restroom building will be left intact for possible use if the site is redeveloped. Rhodes said the classes currently held at Pebblepocket will be easily absorbed by the pools in Glenloch and Kedron.
