Peachtree City got 14.5 miles closer to completing its ongoing street-paving goals in 2018.

City engineer Jonathan Miller reported to the City Council on Dec. 20 that 94 percent of the planned projects have been completed, with some concrete work on curbs and gutters and additional striping and signage left to finish. The city spent $4.58 million of the $4.9 million budgeted for the past year, and was able to repave additional roads not on the original list, such as Kelly Drive/McIntosh Trail, Flat Creek Road, Willow Road and MacDuff Parkway. The city’s initial target was 8 miles of paving funded from 2017 SPLOST revenue and another 2-3 miles from the General Fund.
