The first phase of manhole repairs in Peachtree City has been completed by the Water and Sewerage Authority. A two-year study conducted by RedZone Robotics assessed the condition and functionality of the entire sewer system, and found 211 manholes in poor or failing condition.

Work began last November and included fixing leaks, repairing manhole chimneys and providing cement liners and coating; about 5 percent of the manholes needed complete replacement. The cost for this phase of the project was $339,000, and further work will be ongoing.
