Gwinnett Commissioners voted unanimously last week to approve several contracts for park facility improvements. Jones Bridge and George Pierce parks will receive roof replacements from lowest bidder, D.W. Caldwell. Funding for the work, not to exceed $101,925, comes from the 2009 SPLOST.

Commissioners also approved $655,000 to convert Bethesda Park’s football field to synthetic turf. The contract, with lowest bidder Sports Turf Company, is funded by the 2104 SPLOST.

In addition, Mountain Park Aquatic Center will receive a Neptune Benson Filter Replacement from low bidder Waterworks Atlanta in the amount of $500,000, a negotiated cost savings of $4,088.70. This project will also be funded by the 2014 SPLOST.
