The Oakhurst streetscape improvement, which began about this time last year, is “95 percent” completed according to Deputy City Manager Hugh Saxon, and should be finished by early next year.

Saxon said the final touches include installing landscape plants throughout Oakhurst Village, and installing street furnitures including benches and bicycle racks. The one-acre Harmony Park in the village center is also nearly complete and will feature more hardscape than previously available for hosting outdoor events.

Next fall the village will also receive a series of outdoor sculptures selected from a competition scheduled by the Decatur Arts Alliance.
