New and “gently used” coats and jackets are being accepted at five locations in Alpharetta and Roswell for the 24th year of North Fulton Community Charities’ Warm Coat Drive.

Started in 1994 by Girl Scout Cadet Troop 628, the holiday initiative seeks coats as well as accessories such as hats, scarves and gloves for adults and children through the month of October, culminating with Warm Coat Day on Saturday, Oct. 27.

Coats will be accepted through Oct. 24 at Alpharetta Presbyterian Church, 180 Academy St.; St. David’s Episcopal Church, 1015 Old Roswell Road, Roswell; YMCA Alpharetta, 3655 Preston Ride Rd.; Kids R Kids (Milton), 13950 Highway 9, Alpharetta; and Kids R Kids (Crabapple), 12496 Crabapple Road, Alpharetta.

Donations can be delivered directly to the distribution center in Roswell Town Center, 610 Holcomb Bridge Road, from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26.
