The Norcross City Council voted recently to elect Councilmember Josh Bare to serve as the 2017 Mayor Pro Tem. The mayor pro tem acts in the place of Mayor Bucky Johnson when the mayor is unavailable. In general, the mayor pro tem has all of the powers of the mayor. He would serve as mayor until an election could be held should there be no mayor, or if the mayor became incapacitated.

Bare grew up in Norcross and graduated from Norcross High School before attending the University of Georgia. He is employed in the family business, Arbor-nomics Turf, located in Norcross.
