The Norcross City Council voted Monday to rename South Point Park to Veterans Park. The park, located at the intersection of N. Norcross Tucker Road and South Peachtree Street, will honor the service of U.S. military veterans.

“Veterans are expressing great appreciation to the city for this initiative to honor veterans,” said Councilmember Craig Newton, who was instrumental in the renaming.

Next steps will be to work with the Parks and Recreation Department and local citizens to create a budget and plan for a future veterans monument.
