Forsyth County Chief Judge Jeffrey S. Bagley has been elected the new administrative judge of the Ninth Judicial Administrative District.

Bagley was elected by the district’s Council of Superior Court Judges, according to a Forsyth County announcement. He will be responsible for directing short- and long-term plans for the district and the oversight of district court administration, and will serve on the executive committee of the district judges’ council and the Judicial Council of Georgia.

The Ninth District consists of 15 counties divided into seven judicial circuits; they include the metro Atlanta counties of Forsyth, Cherokee and Gwinnett. Information: https://bit.ly/2XSnvRM

A lifelong resident of Cumming, Bagley received his law degree from the Emory University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Georgia Tech. He served three years as a state court judge and two years as a juvenile court judge before being appointed in 2000 to the Superior Court of the Bell-Forsyth Judicial Circuit, where he is chief judge.

For the last 15 years, Bagley also has been presiding judge of the Forsyth Drug Court.
