For Marietta's second New Year's celebration, they dropped a look-alike of the Big Chicken.

Break out the champagne glasses, or get those fancy plastic ones, because the new year is almost here.

If you’re still seeking something to do on New Year’s Eve, consider all the happenings at Marietta Square that night.

This is the third year the city has hosted a public mumbling of "Auld Lang Syne."

Below you can get a vibe of what the night will be like.

Traffic and parking:

Stephanie Coston, operations manager for the Square’s holiday celebrations, said she doesn’t expect parking to be a problem because it’ll be a Sunday.

She said the roads around the Square will close at 3 p.m. except West Park Square, which will be open all night.

Midnight drop:

Coston said that, like last year, the city will drop a look-alike of the city's famous Big Chicken at midnight. She said that isn't a long-term decision.

Heading into 2016, the city's first year holding a New Year's celebration, they (safely) dropped a man at midnight. The "#dudedrop," which is how it trended online, confused many.
