The Dunwoody Nature has received a $8,735 grant from REI to redevelop and its front meadow area along Roberts Drive. The grant comes on the heels of the Nature Center's groundbreaking to restore the main meadow area behind its education building.
In 2011, REI funds helped restore a large area of land and allowed the Nature Center to reclaim a 1.5-acre parcel that had been overrun with invasive plants. The Nature Center seeks to enhance this area with garden beds, picnic benches and a system of stories-high tree swings among the old hardwood trees.
