Nighttime fishing and boating would be prohibited on Lakes Cherful and Garrett under an ordinance pending before the Mountain Park City Council.
All city parks, lakes and property will be closed at night, the measure says; “night” is defined as the period from 30 minutes after sundown to 30 minutes before sunrise. No one will be allowed on these properties except authorized city employees “or persons engaged in activities authorized by the mayor and council.”
No one will be allowed to boat after dark except for authorized persons; nor may anyone fish at night, except from private property, with the authorization of the property’s owner or occupant.
