The City of Morrow has opportunities for community members to become part of the volunteer Morrow Community Emergency Response Team in which participants are trained to help the fire department during natural or manmade disasters. The volunteer force also takes part in community events, educational seminars and other programs as needed.

Disaster preparedness, fire safety, basic first aid and CPR, light search and rescue are among the skills the volunteers will be trained in. Training will include up to 24 participants.

People who would like to become part of the volunteer team have until Jan.26 to express their interest to Jeff Moss, training captain and CERT program manager.
