Fayette County’s ongoing plan to put synthetic turf fields at each of its high schools is progressing on schedule.

Facilities Director Mike Satterfield recently gave the Board of Education an update on construction that is nearly complete at McIntosh High, where contractors used double shifts and worked 10 days straight to finish ahead of schedule and in time for soccer season.

The new turf for the field at Whitewater High is scheduled for installation this week; other pending projects at that school include a new multipurpose room and parking lot repaving.
