Efforts to address penicillium/aspergillus mold found at Huddleston Elementary School in Peachtree City are continuing. School system Facilities Director Mike Satterfield updated the Board of Education Tuesday, noting that high humidity levels are to blame for the problem, which was first discovered in five classrooms in late June.

The county has deep-cleaned 11 classrooms plus hallways, replaced ceiling tiles, and installed more dehumidifiers. Gaps between the walls and roof have been sealed to reduce moisture, and more air samples will be taken this weekend. Copies of the testing data will be made available to parents and employees.
