The Milton Parks and Recreation Department has issued a request for proposals for a football program provider, starting with the fall 2019 season.

Milton sports programs including baseball, basketball, football, lacrosse, tennis and swim team are offered in partnership with third-party contractors and vendors that administer the programs on behalf of the city, according to a city announcement. Milton, in turn, provides access to facilities and parks through annual provider agreements.

The city parks program first offered football in 2014, and the total number of players for tackle and flag football has averaged 140 per season, the city said. The current RFP invites proposals for tackle, flag and/or cheer programs.

Milton will accept questions from potential bidders from Jan. 15 until 5 p.m., Feb. 7. Answers for the questions submitted will be posted as an addendum on the city's website on Feb. 12. The deadline for submitting proposals is 2 p.m., Feb. 21. Information: https://bit.ly/2RtNSLr

“The city and its program providers work together to promote each specific athletic program, making sure we get as many of our local youth active and engaged,” said Milton Parks and Recreation Director Jim Cregge. “We’re committed to providing high quality programming for our citizens, and the city works with each program provider to set goals designed to help ensure continued resident participation and program growth.”
