Fayette County is accepting applications for an open seat on the Region Six Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Addictive Diseases Regional Advisory Council.

The volunteer board meets from 1 to 4 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every other month, usually at the Upson County Senior Center in Thomaston. Its duties include helping the Region Six Regional Office prepare an annual plan for disabilities services and consulting with families, customers, providers and advocacy groups to identify needs and priorities. Applicants must be Fayette County residents and either need disability services or be a family member of someone who does, or be an advocate or local business person with an interest in behavioral health. The open term begins July 1 and expires on June 30, 2022.

Applications are available at www.fayettecountyga.gov and must be submitted by June 21.
