Meet Georgia’s only transgender elected official

Doraville is now home to Georgia’s only transgender elected official.

Stephe Koontz, a trans woman, is set to take a seat on the city council. Koontz, who volunteers as an afterschool tutor and serves on a committee at Oakhurst Presbyterian Church, won by six votes.
