The McDonough City Council voted July 17 to lower the city’s millage rate from 4.560 to 4.299, a drop of nearly 6 percent. The vote was unanimous. City officials said the annual savings amount to $10.75 on a $100,000 home and $23.50 on a $200,000 home.

Property tax revenues for the city are expected to be virtually the same as in the previous year.
