MARTA invites the public to a meeting Saturday to discuss the route for a four-mile bus rapid transit line that will provide future service to connect Summerhill, Peoplestown and South Downtown to the core of the city. Summerhill Bus Rapid Transit was awarded federal funding in 2018. Plans so far have the project completed by 2025.
The Summerhill project is one of several fast-tracked by MARTA as part of a $2.7 billion program to fund transit improvements in Atlanta over the next 40 years.
The meeting takes place noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at Georgia Hill Neighborhood Center, 250 Georgia Avenue SE, Atlanta.
MARTA wants to update residents on the status of the project and hear about needs of the bus-riding public.
Light refreshments and childcare will be provided.
