A parking deck at MARTA’s Dunwoody Station will close to riders Tuesday.

MARTA has been leasing the parking deck from Perimeter Mall owner GGP — formerly called General Growth Properties — but recently terminated the deal, MARTA spokesperson Stephany Fisher said Monday. The deck is located on Perimeter Center Parkway to the west side of the station.

“The parking deck was not heavily used and rather than continue our lease, we decided it was in our best interest to terminate it and allow for possible future opportunities for transit oriented development surrounding the Dunwoody Station,” Fisher said.

The station’s other parking deck, off of Hammond Drive, will remain free daily and provide long-term secured parking for $5 per day.

Another option for patrons is to park at the Sandy Springs Station, one stop away, officials said. Free daily parking is available at more than 20 MARTA stations.
