Marietta City Schools students won’t have to worry about missing meals while they enjoy their summer break.
The school system will offer free breakfasts and lunches at several locations through July 31. Any child under the age of 18 will be fed, and no registration or income threshold will be required to get a meal, the school district said.
Marietta is participating in the federal Seamless Summer Option program, which allows school districts to provide meals to students.
Marietta City Schools began delivering meals to students when the school system closed March 16 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The system delivered 249,023 meals during the closure, spokeswoman Jen Brock said. The last day of school was May 22.
