Three policy changes were approved unanimously Sept. 18 by the Marietta Board of Education.

  • Report Cards: The Kindergarten progress report is removed due to additional Kindergarten reporting requirements.
  • Parent Conferences: District Conference Week requirements are one full week in the fall semester and additional days in the spring semester.
  • Graduation Requirements: Units of credit are assigned automatically to middle school students who pass a Georgia Performance Standards or Georgia Standards of Excellence high school course. Also, the option is removed of retaking the GPS or GSE high school course if the course was passed. Another change adds English for Speakers of Other Languages I to the list of course options that a student may use to earn High School English credits.
