A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. will arrive on Aug. 15 to examine all aspects of the Marietta Police Department’s policy and procedures, management, operations and support services.

As a part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and the public are invited to offer comments at a public information session at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Marietta City Hall, Council Chambers, 205 Lawrence St., Marietta.

Comments by telephone may be made 1-3 p.m. Aug. 16 at 770-794-5374.

Any public comments, in person or by telephone, are limited to 10 minutes and must address the department’s ability to comply with CALEA standards.
