A subdivision of 27 houses was approved 7-0 on Dec. 11 by the Marietta City Council.

In making his motion for approval, Councilman Johnny Walker said proposals for this property began with 175 apartments to 57, 47, then 37 houses.

On 6.62 acres, the houses will be on 931, 875, 871 and 819 Polk St. and 103 Mountain View Road.

Speaking on behalf of the Marietta-based applicant Elliott Homes, attorney Adam Rozen noted that 35.5 percent of the site - 2.35 acres - will be open space.

The houses will range from 2,200 to 2,500 square feet with two-car garages, he added, though not mentioning the price range for The Cottages at Keeler Woods.
