The Marietta Board of Education made unanimous decisions during a special called meeting on Jan. 26, including the addition of a school day on March 12 to help make up for loss of days due to January’s icy weather.
Expenditures include:
- $1,336,627 to R. K. Redding Construction, Inc. for the roof project at Marietta Sixth Grade Academy. This project is scheduled to begin in June and be completed by August 2019.
- $35,925 to MC's Painting & Decorating, Inc. for the painting project at Marietta Middle School. This project will begin immediately with completion by August. All labor, equipment and material will be supplied to paint walls, door frames and one accent wall for 76 classrooms.
- $22,559 to Ken Stanton Music for 31 band instruments for Marietta Sixth Grade Academy, Marietta Middle School, and Marietta High School to compensate for growth in the band program and replace aging equipment.
